DBSA Rock Hill is a chapter of the DBSA Alliance, a national organization whose mission is to provide hope, help, support, and education to improve the lives of people living with mood disorders. Currently, there are two in-person support groups in South Carolina meeting in Aiken and Rock Hill. We acknowledge the offer more in-person support groups in South Carolina and welcome those in our community who are interested in either starting a support group affiliated with the DBSA Alliance through the DBSA Rock Hill chapter or forming a chapter affiliated with the DBSA Alliance.
There are several benefits when affiliating with the DBSA Alliance. The DBSA Alliance offers guidance for creating a tried and true standardized meeting format emphasizing a safe, welcoming, respectful and confidential environment for sharing and learning coping strategies based on shared experience. Also, the DBSA Alliance provides information about mood disorders (e.g. – symptoms and coping strategies) written from a non-clinical perspective.
